What to expect from your Better Life Challenge

The below information relates only to the Better Life Challenge

 

What to expect on your first week?

You'll be booked in for 2 Sessions.

Your first session will be approximately 20 minutes with Chris Weddell. Chris is our measurement specialist! He'll record your current body fat percentage, body weight, and screen your bodies range of motion. Three profile photos will be taken but will only be used for your own reference.

The second session is with your personal trainer lasting approximately 60 minutes. You'll work up a sweat with this one. At the start you'll select one of three 15 minute workout challenges designed to test your current endurance, strength and agility. You'll complete this challenge and the results are recorded. A cutomised workout will be designed to help you improve your results. It's important to remember that the challenge will be taken at you own level of fitness. This is designed to give you a baseline to improve. Your result won't be made public in any way unless we have your permission.

 

What to expect with your 6th week Personal Trainer catchup session?

This is a 60 minute session for your personal trainer to see how you're progressing. You'll complete the 15 minute challenge to gauge where your current level is at. This time is used to look at updating your current exercise program to ensure that you are at the correct training level for the remaining six weeks.

 

What to expect throughout your 12 Week Challenge?

You'll be invited to join a private Fitness Canterbury Facebook forum. Members in this forum will be other participants completing the same challange. From here you'll be able to give and receive support and encouragement to and from other participants. Trainers and Fitness Canterbury staff will also be commenting and offering advice over the 12 weeks.

You'll receive weekly newsletters with helpful advice and tips on training, nutrition and motivation. In four of these newsletters there'll be articles which you'll need to read thoroughly. Why? Because content in these articles will be tested in the final week with an online test. Results of the test will go towards your overall score.

 

What to expect on the final week of the challenge?

You'll be booked in for 2 Sessions.

You'll be sent a link to an online test covering topics and content in four articles contained in the weekly newsletters. The test will be multichoice - and yes you can have the articles in front of you!

Your first session will be approximately 20 minutes with Chris Weddell. This is the start of getting your results. Chirs will record your current body fat percentage, body weight, and screen your bodies range of motion. Three profile photos will be taken for your own reference. The results will be calculated and points award for the percentage of improvement from your first week to the last week.

The second session is with your personal trainer lasting approximately 20 minutes. This is the biggy....and you'll once again sweat with this one. You'll complete your challenge, putting into practice the last 12 weeks of training to improve your results! Simple!!!

Points will be awarded on:

  • Main Challenge - points awarded based on the % of improvement
  • Body Fat % - points awarded based on the % of improvement (reduced body fat percentage)
  • Online Multi Choice Test - points awarded on the % of correct answers.
  • Attendence - 4 or more training sessions a week will get you one point. A total of 12 points can be obtained from attendence alone, but you must train for a least 1/2 an hour each time.
