Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you decided to make a change to your health?
I gave up work at the age of 40. Prior to this i was a shareholder for a very successful business. Once retired i was at a loss of how to fill my days. I started eating and drinking to much. When i couldn't stand to look in a mirror i knew it was time to do something. Its not easy to take that first step, but im sure glad i did it.

What has been your biggest challenge during this lifestyle change?
Getting started, then realising it won't happen overnight but it will happen with consistant input.

What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
Noticing small body improvements which has altered my mind set. Going to the gym is a healthy social outing

What is your favourite healthy food to eat? What is the recipe?

What is your favourite form of exercise to do and why?
I have a love/hate relationship with the weekly challenge. Love the competition to do a good time within my age group.

What is your best piece of advice that you could give to those just starting to exercise or in the process of making the decision to join Fitness Canterbury?
If your budget allows engage a personal trainer. As they keep you focused on your goals and encourage you constantly. They are also fun to workout with.
If your budget doesn't allow for a PT then go with a friend as on the occasional day you feel like giving the gym a miss. This means You won't as you won't want to let your friend down.
